WALCO receives safety award from Hitachi Zosen for the successful completion of awarded subcontract work in the Umm Al Houl Power Plant project (IWPP) in Doha-Qatar
WALCO has been awarded few subcontracts from Hitachi Zosen Corporation (HZC) for the largest desalination plant of Qatar ( (approx.590,000ton/day made up of the MSF (Multi-Stage Flash) process and the RO (Reverse Osmosis) process) from a special purpose company, Umm Al Houl Power formed by Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), Qatar Petroleum(QP), Qatar Foundation(QF) and K1 Energy, a joint venture established by Mitsubishi Corporation(MC) and Tokyo Electric Power Company(TEPCO), Incorporated (SPC).
The scope of the job was included steelworks, FRP lining, and fit-out jobs, cladding works, torquing and tensioning of the building structures, overhaul and testing of valves, and other miscellaneous works.
WALCO has successfully completed all the scope of works safely and became part of the successful execution of the project.
HITACHI ZOSEN CORPORATION -QATAR Project management team has awarded WALCO for their exemplary safety performance and contributing to the project for achieving 768 workdays and 22,446,950 work hours without a lost-time incident (LTO) of the Umm Al Houl Power Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP), Al Wakrah, Qatar.
This certificate of Recognition has been presented to Mr. Varghese Varghese, Senior Manager of WALCO on 31st of July, 2018
